Why is High Blood Pressure Such a Big Problem?

Why is HBP Such a Big Deal?

Patients ask all the time, “Why is high blood pressure such a big deal?”

The’ll say…My blood pressure's a little elevated. It's 140/80…It’s 150/95, but I feel great… I’ve got no symptoms, I’m not having headaches… I don't get it. I don't really want to be on medication. So why should this be a problem for me?

Well, I’m glad you asked that question… I want to tell you a little bit about why high blood pressure can be such a major problem and why it starts so early in life…

First of all, I want you to envision your cardiovascular system… It's like a big tree, right? The arteries are like the base of the tree… The veins are like the branches..

Your cardiovascular system is like a tree...

And then the leaves and twigs are like your capillaries… OK. So that's Kinda how your cardiovascular system is structured… Your heart pumps the blood through this tree-like structure…

Remember, your blood is full of things like red blood cells and white blood cells… Red Blood cells have a lifespan…they replenish themselves every four to six months. Red blood cells are produced in the bone marrow…when they are new, they're very soft and pliable…

and it’s very easy for them to make their way through this intricate system and deliver oxygen rich nutrition all the way into the capillaries in the extremities, the brain and the organs and skin…

New Red Blood Cells are Soft and Pliable

But after a month or so, they start to harden and get stiff… And so what happens with high blood pressure is that these hardened red blood cells begin to act like a sandblaster or sandpaper to the the lining of your blood vessels…

So your blood is pumping up through your cardiovascular system and and at every fork it's just creating so much stress by showering this bifurcation with all these hard red blood cells. Over time the vessel wall start getting a worn down…

As it gets worn down, little pieces of the cellular lining called the endothelium begin to flake off… And when that happens, these older red blood cells can get back behind the endothelium and against the meat of your blood vessels, the muscle of the vessel wall… When that starts happening, well that's when inflammation starts… Once the inflammation begins to flare up…

High Blood Pressure Leads to Plaque Build Up

Fat, cholesterol, calcium and other substances found in blood begin to build up… over time, this plaque hardens and narrows your arteries And this is happening all the time…

Now Many people start to have about high blood pressure in their thirties… So you may not realize that you have coronary artery disease until your sixties, but this all starts very early in life with high blood pressure… So a sedentary lifestyle, the standard American diet, poor exercise habits, poor sleep habits lead to high blood pressure which directly causes cardiovascular disease. …

This Damage Leads to Chronic Illness...

And this is the exact reason why these hardened red blood cells that are constantly pounding your cardiovascular system, create the damage that leads to inflammation. And inflammation is now known to be the root cause of chronic illness…

Come back tomorrow. I'm going to teach you how to easily get rid of these hard red blood cells and keep this whole process from ever starting in the first place.
